We Help Professional Players And Competitive Junior Players Maximize Results With Laser-Focused Technical Video Feedback

Jump up a level with minimal technical adjustments that do not require you to take too much time off from competition!

Specialization Is The Future Of Coaching

At OTI High-Performance, we believe in specialization.  The times of one coach being in charge of everything for a player are over.  You can already see this with the teams of the best players in the world like Sinner and Alcaraz.  Developing a world-class player nowadays requires specialists in all areas of the game: technique, movement, and the mental game.

At OTI We Specialize In Technique

Our primary specialization at OTI High-Performance is helping players fix technical weaknesses without having to miss too much competition!

There are not many technique specialists in tennis yet.  In contrast, pretty much every professional Golfer has a swing coach they visit from time to time to fine-tune their swing technique.

In the NBA, the best players in the world work with shooting coaches during the off-season.  In these sports, they also measure a lot more technical details like swing speeds and body angles.  They are simply more professional, and in comparison, tennis coaching is still somewhat in the stone age.

One thing that is important to know from the start, is that we see ourselves as an addition to your existing team.  We're not looking to replace your existing coaching team at all.

Why Technique Is Crucial

The game has evolved and at the top level you simply can no longer have a weakness on any of the key strokes. Novak Djokovic became the first truly complete player without a weakness. Earlier in his career, he had a significant technical weakness on the serve and a slight weakness on the forehand. However, he managed to fix both and even turn his serve into a real weapon. This, combined with his unbelievable movement, has made him the best player of all time.

Now Alcaraz and Sinner have taken it to a new level. They don't have any real weaknesses and are now playing even more aggressively.

They dominate with short compact swings and yet incredible amounts of racket head speed. This allows them to stay close to the line and put enormous pressure on opponents, which is only possible when you have super-efficient technique. The main thing that separates Alcaraz and Sinner from the other players right now is superior technique - paired with phenomenal movement.
Take Sascha Zverev, for example. He is obviously a phenomenal player with a phenomenal career, but he has not managed to achieve what everybody thought he would - win a Grand Slam title.

The main reason? His forehand is simply not strong enough technically and that shows up especially, when the pressure is highest. So when players like Djokovic, Sinner, and Alcaraz are at their best (as they usually are in Grand Slams), Zverev's forehand simply usually does not hold up well enough.

Without improving his serve so much, Djokovic would have never won anywhere near the Grand Slam titles that he did. For Zverev to win a Grand Slam, his forehand needs to improve.

Changing Technique At The Pro Level:

In the past, most coaches did not touch the technique of a professional player.  It was commonly believed that it's simply too late and at that point you have to live with what you have.  However, as players like Djokovic and Sinner have shown with their serve improvements, it is possible and necessary to improve technique at the pro level!

Of Course, making a technical change does come with some risks and is only advised at the professional level if the coach is very experienced with these types of changes and knows how to make laser-focused changes that result in quick improvements.

Yes, for a pro player you don't want to make big changes that take months before working in tournaments.  However, with incremental changes, you can continuously improve a stroke step-by-step until it has reached the absolute world-class level.
Djokovic and Sinner are not the only ones.  In the past few years, Carlos Alcaraz also made significant technical changes and improvements on his serve.  And of course, there is Aryna Sabalenka who had terrible problems with her serve and would at times hit over 20 double faults in a match.  She hired a technique specialist to fix her serve and since then has become number one in the world.

As you can see, the absolute best are showing that it is possible and even crucial to make technical changes as a high-performance player.

Technique

Even though we do work with players on all areas of the game, technique is our primary area of expertise. You will receive world-class technical coaching from some of the best and most experienced technique experts in the industry.

We will show you exactly where your technique differs from what the best players in the world like Alcaraz, Sinner and Djokovic use to dominate their competition.
However, in the process we will always only work on the number 1 technical priority for you right now. Identifying that is what requires a really strong understanding of biomechanics as well as years of experience.  This approach results in you hitting better shots in the shortest amount of time possible and allows you to get back to competition relatively quickly.

Movement

Movement is not just about strength and speed. Another component that is crucial is movement efficiency. This essentially means how efficient your movement technique is. Pro players use over 20 different movement patterns on a regular basis, and we have one of the leading experts in the world on this topic as part of our team.

Mental Game

Once you get to a higher level of the game, the mental aspects and dealing with pressure become very important as well.

This is another area that our founder and head coach, Florian Meier, has a very extensive background in.

Additionally, we also partner with former world #1 doubles player and mental game expert Jim Grabb on this crucial area of the game.

Here, our approach differs a lot from most of the mental game training on the market. Instead of focusing heavily on what can be called positive thinking, we utilize special exercises to help you train what we call your “focus muscle.”

At the end of the day, the key skill is to be able to focus on the task at hand without distraction, which usually comes from the thoughts that you have in your head.

This can and has to be trained with regular exercises, just like your technique!
