OTI High Performance For Competitive
Juniors & Parents

Attention Junior Players, Parents, and Coaches:

Is a Technical Weakness Holding You Back From Achieving Your Goals?

Whether the long-term goal is a spot at a top U.S. college program or a career in professional tennis, the earlier you build efficient, world-class technique, the better. Early technical mastery sets the foundation for a lifetime of high-level play and avoids painful “rebuild” phases later.

We can give your player a clear, step-by-step plan to develop world class technique that will maximize his or her potential!

Why Early Technical Developement Matters

In junior tennis, it’s possible to hide a technical weakness for a while. A strong serve or forehand can cover for a weaker backhand, for example. However, as your player moves into higher-level tournaments, those weaknesses get exposed.

We’ve all seen the players who dominate at ages 10 to 12 because they move well and rarely miss. But by the time they’re older, many of these same players have fallen behind, simply because they neglected to develop the technical foundations needed to excel at 18 and beyond.
The earlier you address a technical issue, the easier it is to fix. Waiting until later often means the habit is deeply ingrained and requires far more time and effort to change.

Modern tennis has evolved dramatically over the past decade. Players are hitting harder, staying closer to the baseline, and punishing even minor technical flaws. At the highest levels, there is no room for a stroke that isn’t fully reliable under pressure.

Too Many Opinions, Not Enough Clarity

Many parents and juniors have heard conflicting advice from different coaches, each with their own opinion on what needs fixing. This can lead to confusion, frustration, and wasted time.

What’s needed is one dedicated technique specialist who takes responsibility for making that fix, step-by-step, in a clear, structured process.

This requires a deep understanding of biomechanics, which quite frankly your local coach most likely does not have, as well as lots of experience in making these technical changes.

Tennis vs. Golf and Other Sports

In golf, it’s common for top players to have a dedicated technique or swing coach in addition to their main coach. They visit the technique coach a few times per year, often in the off-season or after a long stretch of tournaments, to fine-tune their swing.

Tennis strokes are just as complex, yet most junior players rely on one coach to cover everything: technique, tactics, match prep, and fitness. At the highest levels, this is no longer enough. A technique specialist can simply spot and fix inefficiencies that A coach who is not as specialised would miss.

The best players in the world, like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, are already working with a team of specialists, each focused on a specific area such as technique, movement, fitness, or the mental game. This multi-specialist approach ensures that no detail is overlooked and that every part of their performance is being developed at the highest level.

How OTI High Performance Works With Competitive Juniors

Regardless of whether you train with us in our Boca Raton, Florida OTI high-performance base, at our location in Munich, Germany, or exclusively with digital coaching, we have a proven process to help you transform any stroke into a real weapon!

We designed this process to fit seamlessly into your tournament schedule, without requiring very long breaks from competition.

Step #1:  Initial Technical Analysis

We always start with an initial technical analysis using high speed video.

With this analysis, we will identify the 1–2 key changes that will deliver the biggest gains in the shortest amount of time possible.

Step #2: Laser-Focused Adjustment Phase

Once the key changes are identified, we will show you how to make them efficiently in a short training block.

Bigger changes can sometimes take multiple weeks whereas smaller changes can often be done in just a few days of training, sometimes even at a tournament site and shortly before competition.

Depending on your situation, we can do these training blocks with you in person as well as with digital coaching. In fact, in the past we have often combined in person training blocks with ongoing digital coaching for maximum results.

Step #3:  Integration Into Match Play

After the intensive initial phase where you really just focus on the technical change, you then move on into the phase where you start to integrate the new technique into match play.

We will design a custom plan for how you can best do this to develop new muscle memory and at the same time not spend too much time away from competition.

Step #4 Follow-Up, Fine-Tuning & Remote Support

After a tournament stretch, we can meet with you again to fine-tune and reinforce the technical gains.

We also offer remote coaching via video analysis, so you can send us match or practice footage while on the road.

This keeps you progressing and prevents old habits from creeping back in.

Our process is designed to deliver results quickly and fit seamlessly into your player’s long-term development plan:

Case Study: From Top Junior To Top 50 In The World

Several years ago, our founder and head coach Florian Meier worked with 14-year old junior player Carina Witthöft. He helped her make big changes to her forehand, including a big grip change. Additionally, he completely rebuilt her serve.

These technical changes happend over 2 years and later Carina became a top 50 player in the world and even competed against Serena Williams at the US Open!

“Without the technical improvements that I made with Florian over the last several months, I would not have won the German National Under 18 Championships as well as the NCAA Division 2 title. My forehand is now a huge weapon with lots of power and depth! Thanks!"
